Activities – June 2019

July 3rd, 2019

Our everyday activities are all still ongoing this month – favourites coming up appear to be Armchair Exercise with the parachute, Balloon Exercise, Knitting Club, Games of Cards, Connect Four and Snakes and Ladders.

We are now on a new book, ‘The Button Box’, which appears to be doing well.

One-to-ones are still in place which the residents enjoy, alongside Reminiscence on Rhona House.

We are also continuing our morning walks, (weather permitting!) on Rhona.

Our trips out for lunch have been with Andrew House to Maggie May’s and The Pub in the Park with the residents of Vincent House.

We have also had Dorothy and Theresa playing the piano for some of our residents to enjoy.

Our social this month went well with the residents favourite – fish and chips!

Activities – February 2019

March 4th, 2019

We started off the month with a Chinese supper to celebrate Chinese New Year. Residents read their Chinese Horoscopes and some were able to say Happy New Year in Chinese. Gong hey fat choi – congratulations and prosperity!

Residents continue to enjoy our everyday activities such as book club, bingo and our weekly social.

Please note our Anglican service now takes place on the second Tuesday of each month with our local vicar.

Roy from Vincent played his accordion and mouth organ, resulting in an impromptu sing along. Sr Joan and Sr Evelyn also joined in with Sr Evelyn playing the accordion alongside Roy.

We had birthday parties for both Ken and Elizabeth this month.

This month we started ‘Singing Mamas’ led by Rachel with infants and mums from the local community inviting our residents to join in. Rachel also provided the entertainment for the residents.
