Celebration

June 22nd, 2018

On 7th June 2018 the Residents, staff and their families gathered to celebrate achieving a ‘GOOD’ CQC report – this was something that we were really proud of and wanted to celebrate this achievement together.  It turned out to be a real family event with lots of laughing, dancing and fun!

Our Residents enjoyed the staff trying to salsa dance and the Residents joined in, we even had a guest appearance from Poppy the Guide Dog!  Meanwhile the children were showing the staff how to dance with Maia demonstrating her wonderful cartwheels.  Baby Lucas melted all our hearts by showing off how he could stand up tall!

Poppy the Guide Dog also wowed us all with her tricks and excellent behaviour and all Residents, staff and children enjoyed her company!

However, one off our Registered Nurses, Chris, stole the show with her rendition of Shirley Bassey and Blunder Woman!!

It was a wonderful evening and the highlight for us all was to see our Residents laughing and engaging with the fun.  It was a FABULOUS way to celebrate our teams achievement!!!

May 22nd, 2018

During April we celebrated Easter within Christopher Grange.  On Easter Sunday each Resident received some chocolate and a sherry on each unit and then on Easter Monday we had an Easter Bonnet Parade with our very own Jim, Gerard and Alf acting as the judges for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.  We also had an egg and spoon race were Residents, families and staff all got involved!

We also celebrated Aintree Grand National’s Ladies Day with our very own ‘Ladies Day’ here are Christopher Grange.  On the day we had judges with prizes for the winners, we had refreshments which included snacks and bucks fizz and we also had our own sweep with Pat from Rhona getting the winner!

We are continuing with our usual activities including our monthly social, we had had some entertainment and celebrated a few of our Residents birthdays.  Our trips out this month have included visiting local garden centres, shopping and lunch out and the recently introduced hand massages has proved popular!

Thank you!

In May 2018 the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) presented Christopher Grange with a cheque for £20,000 which we will use to purchase new curtains and bedding for all of the bedrooms in the Residential Units.

We would like to take this opportunity to give a massive thanks to the RVS for their very kind and generous donation and to thank all the volunteers at the RVS Coffee Shop who give their time and support and who provide a wonderful, social experience that our Residents and their families value and enjoy.

Thank you once again for this wonderful gift that has enabled us to improve the quality of the service we offer our Residents.
