Activities – November 2016

December 12th, 2016

Activities in November have been ongoing which included a trip to a local pub – The Standard for a pub lunch with some of our Residents as well as a lunch out at the Bradbury Bistro which our Resident’s found most enjoyable!alder hey choir

We continued to celebrate our Resident’s birthdays and this month this included Ann, Carolyn, Stan and Madge which where all celebrated on their units with family and friends.

On Sunday 6th November 2016 the choir from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital came to Christopher Grange to sing war songs for our Residents in preparation for Remembrance Day.  On Remembrance Day we then held our own minutes silence in honour of those who have fallen during the war.

On Wednesday 9th November 2016 we held our Annual Meeting here at Christopher Grange with the Right Reverent Paul Bayes, Bishop of Liverpool our special guest who addressed the meeting.

anns bdayOur usual day to day activities are still up and running and are going well with our Residents really enjoying them – especially armchair exercise!  This month we took our parachute exercise to Rhona House which was a great success and we also enjoy Bingo which had been requested by our Residents.

This month we changed the theme of our very popular ‘Fish and Chip Supper’ and instead our Resident’s enjoyed a Hot Pot with crusty bread (in keeping with the cold weather!).

We also celebrated St. Andrews day with a reminiscence over St. Andrew and enjoyed cakes and refreshments – we enjoyed this afternoon on our very own unit named Andrew House!
