Activities – November 2018

December 4th, 2018

In honour of Remembrance Day our residents made wreathes which included the names of their loved ones, we placed them on the Alter in our Chapel for Remembrance Sunday.

Our regular activities such as book club, pom-pom making, armchair exercise and our shopping trips with lunch on a Wednesday are thoroughly enjoyed by residents.

St Edwards College students continue to visit each Monday to play bingo with our residents, visiting a different unit each Monday.

We celebrated Madge and Carolyn`s birthdays this month – Happy Birthday to them both!

Entertainment this month was provided by a Ukulele Band which proved to be popular with resident’s families and friends coming along to this event at our Sight Loss Learning Hub.

Activities – October 2018

November 6th, 2018

This month we have started making pom-poms in our knitting club, which in the lead up to Christmas appears to be going well.

A new Book Club afternoon group has started named ‘Liverpool Sisters’, the current book ‘Mothers of the City’ is a popular choice being set in Liverpool.  There is a lot of discussion in the group around their collective memories of life in Liverpool.

All our other activities are continuing including a baking day this month making apple pies.  Our residents are still choosing weekly shopping trips as a favourite activity.

We have had pupils from St Edwards College returning for a game of bingo, some of the pupils played the piano and sang for us.  Additional entertainment has been provided by Lilli Moore, which was enjoyed by all.

Happy Birthday to Jackie whom had a party to celebrate her birthday this month.
