Making a positive difference with Liverpool One

Liverpool ONE is striving to be the UK’s number one retail and leisure destination for people with a visual impairment!

A recent partnership saw Liverpool ONE and Christopher Grange Visual Rehabilitation Centre collaborate to improve the shopping experience for people with a visual impairment.

As part of the initiative, Liverpool ONE’s Customer Service team and front line management staff attended bespoke Visual Impairment Awareness Training (VIAT) enabling them to offer customer assistance in a confident and helpful manner; and becoming the very first shopping destination in the country to complete the training in the process.

Facilitated by Christopher Grange Rehabilitation Centre, the Liverpool ONE team enjoyed the experience immensely, with feedback including:

“The training opened my eyes to the difficulties faced by someone with a visual impairment, I will now be able to approach and assist in the correct way with confidence, learning the sighted guide technique was most useful and something I will use in my job (and outside of it!) Great training session!”

We’re committed to delivering the very best service to our customers and equipping our team with the knowledge and training to do this is just part of our daily operation.
