Activities – September 2017

October 5th, 2017

During September we held a Coffee Morning in aid of Marie Curie in the Market Place with tea/coffee and cakes for all those who attended, we had decorated the Market Place with bunting made especially for the day by our Residents during a craft day earlier in the month.  We raised a massive £192.00, we would like to thank everyone who contributed and made the day a success.

This month the Community of Sisters who reside at Christopher Grange celebrated the 400th anniversary of St Vincent De Paul.  We celebrated in the Market Place with tea/coffee/soft drinks and cakes with our Residents and their families and we had a lovely afternoon!

We had a trip out in the minibus this month however due to the typical English weather we had to remain on the mini bus – we drove to some of the locations where our Residents had resided/grew up and all those involved thoroughly enjoyed their day out and reminiscing together.

During the month we also held a sing along with a DVD on one of our units and we had a great turnout with all those who attended really enjoying their afternoon!  We also held a baking day during September 2017 with our Residents baking heart shaped Victoria sponges – delicious!

We continued with our usual daily/weekly activities which are all going well (and being attended in large numbers) including Armchair Exercise, Crosswords etc.  Celebrations are continuing for Residents birthdays and this month Frank and Mary enjoyed their parties on their respective units.  The Residents Monthly Social is still proving popular with Residents numbers again on the up and our new Residents attending for the first time.
