As a focus for our Harvest Festival Celebration this year, we have chosen The Global FoodBanking Network. FoodBanking helps to alleviate world hunger. They do this by supporting food banks and food bank networks where they exist, and by working collaboratively to create them in communities where they are needed. You may recently have seen this on the television as a news item.

We would like the children to bring into School items of tinned food. We will celebrate our Harvest Festival on Friday 14th October and all donations will be displayed in the School Chapel. We will then distribute the items.

To raise awareness and encourage participation perhaps your child could do an extra job at home and buy a tin of food with their own money.

eg washing the dishes – 1 tin of beans

tidying bedroom – 1 tin of tomatoes
