Activities – April 2017
May 8th, 2017We had a busy month during April with lots of activities for our Residents to enjoy.
In celebration with the Aintree Grand National we celebrated Ladies Day with some of our lovely ladies with some fizzy wine and nibbles. Everyone looked fabulous but in our very own ‘best dressed’ competition the winners were:
Pauline won 1st prize – a chocolate egg
Violet won 2nd prize – hand lotion set
Maggie won 3rd prize – a set of soaps
We also held our very own Grand National ‘sweep’ for our Residents and the lucky winners were:
1. Bob who picked ‘One for Arthur’
2. Harriet who picked ‘Causes of Causes’
3. Maggie who picked ‘Saint Are’
We also held a raffle of a lovely bottle of Port and Whisky which Linda, one of our Unit Managers, picked out of the hat and the lucky winner was one of our members of staff, Pat.
Congratulations to all our winners!
During April we celebrated the Easter period by making our very own Easter cards and some delicious chocolate nest cakes! Then on Easter Sunday we celebrated with some chocolate after lunch with a nice glass of Sherry and on Easter Monday we enjoyed a cup of tea/coffee with some hot cross buns on the Market Place.
As usual we have continued with the popular monthly activities which included knitting club, armchairs exercises, Bingo, crosswords and ‘news time’. We also held our monthly Residents Social ‘Fish and Chip Supper’ and this month we also celebrated our Residents, Hilda and Eleanor’s birthdays and we enjoyed a sing-along with Jan playing her guitar.
