Year 7 and 8 Booked Up Event

November 30th, 2011

As the son of a Viking chief, Hiccup should be able to pass the Dragon Initiation Programme with flying colours. Unfortunately for Hiccup his stubborn dragon Toothless has other ideas. But the arrival of the Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus offers the chance for Hiccup to shine. Can he defeat the dragon and save the Viking tribe from certain death?

All Year 7 and 8 pupils can find out the answer to this by listening to the free audio book provided by the Booked Up Trust. Happy Listening!

Key Stage 3 Calvert Trust March 2012

PE Department Outdoor and Adventurous Activities Residential

19th – March 23rd 2012

As part of a child’s Physical Education curriculum provision, they are required to experience a programme of Outdoor and Adventurous Activities. We are keen to offer a high standard of provision and consequently have arranged a specialised one-week course for KS3 pupils.

The course will be based at The Calvert Trust Centre, Keswick, in the Lake District. We have used this centre for many years and have always been very pleased with their ability to meet our children’s needs.

A group of approximately 7 pupils and 3 staff will travel to the Lakes by school mini-bus on Monday 19th March and return on the morning of 23rd March, in time for home transport as usual.

If your child has been offered a place you please complete the permission slip and the enclosed Calvert Trust Medical Form and return them all to Mr Paul Gillon, PE Coordinator, as soon as possible.

Please do not hesitate to contact either Mr Gillon or Mrs Bradshaw at school, should you have any questions. Further details will follow.
