Pastoral Services

The Daughters of Charity provide a pastoral service of religious sisters led by Sister Evelyn who also reside on site. The pastoral team are available 24 hours a day and are available to Residents, their families and friends and our staff.

In addition to offering pastoral care on a daily basis to all who request it, they play a special part in helping the Residents through their final days and are also on hand to assist families to prepare for the funeral of their loved ones if requested.

Christopher Grange also holds a annual Light up a Life service, remembering those we love – a sacred moment of silence, reflection and prayer. Residents that have passed on along with personal requested names are read and a candle is lit for each name read in remembrance.

    Chapel

At Christopher Grange there is a Chapel on site which is situated in the centre of the building. The Chapel can accommodate 100 people and is available for services of all faiths; there is a Catholic service available 6 days a week and once a month there is an Anglican service.

The Chapel is open at all times for quiet reflection, and is used by Residents, staff and visitors. When a Resident dies the Chapel is often used by their family for the Funeral, and this final service adds another dimension to the ethos of Christopher Grange.
